The Lafayette Lodge

A Brotherhood of Enlightened Minds

In the spirit of the Marquis de Lafayette

Named in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette — Freemason, champion of liberty, and hero of the American Revolution — our lodge welcomes men of good character who seek fellowship, service, and wisdom.

About the Lodge

Rooted in Liberty, Built on Brotherhood

The Lafayette Lodge stands in the tradition of those who believed that free men, bound by virtue and mutual respect, can improve themselves and their communities.

Our lodge takes its name from Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette — a French nobleman, major general of the Continental Army, and devoted Freemason. Lafayette embodied the ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity that animated both the American and French Revolutions, and that continue to guide our Craft.

In Las Vegas, The Lafayette Lodge offers a sanctuary from the noise of modern life: a place where thoughtful men meet as equals, study the symbolism of Freemasonry, practice charity, and form lifelong bonds of brotherhood.

Whether you are curious about Freemasonry, seeking a lodge home in Southern Nevada, or simply wish to learn more about our namesake, we welcome your interest with open doors and open hearts.

  • Brotherhood

We meet as equals — without regard to creed, party, or station — united by a shared commitment to moral growth and mutual support.

  • Pillars

    Enlightenment

Through ritual, study, and conversation, we pursue clearer judgment, deeper character, and a life more deliberately lived.

  • All-seeing eye

    Community

Charity and civic engagement are not ornaments of the Craft; they are its practical expression in the world beyond the lodge room.

History & Values

From the Age of Revolution to the Las Vegas Valley

Freemasonry has long walked beside the story of free societies. The Lafayette Lodge carries that inheritance into the American West.

  1. 1777–1783

    Lafayette & the Revolution

The Marquis de Lafayette served with distinction under Washington, became a Freemason, and forged a living link between French and American ideals of liberty.

  2. Heritage

    The Craft in America

Generations of American Freemasons — among them many of the Founding generation — carried forward the symbols of the square, the compasses, and the working tools of moral architecture.

  3. Today

    The Lafayette Lodge

In Las Vegas, our lodge continues that work: forming better men, supporting families and neighbors, and keeping reasoned fellowship alive in a vibrant modern city — meeting at the Memorial Masonic Temple.

Guiding Values

  • Liberty

Respect for the dignity and conscience of every individual, and for the free institutions that protect them.

  • Tradition

A living inheritance of ritual, symbolism, and etiquette that connects us to brothers across centuries.

  • Integrity

Honesty in word and deed; the square as a daily measure of our conduct toward others.

  • Charity

Relief of the distressed, care for the widow and orphan, and quiet service without fanfare.

  • Temperance

Self-command and balance — the compasses that keep passion and excess within due bounds.

  • Fraternity

Loyalty to one another, hospitality to visitors, and a shared language of respect.
